With a decade of experience in custom bicycle design, we listened closely to what our customers want most out of their bikes and have come up with the latest in our line of customizable steel frames. It's modern, versatile, and ready for adventure.

The Stinson is our understated and distinctly Mission take on an “adventure” style frame – a stylish, customizable frameset as comfortable being your daily commuter as it is your off-road vehicle when you find yourself itching to get out and off the city streets. By introducing a generous handful of all-new features such as wider tire clearance, disc brakes, convertible dropouts, belt drive and rack mounts, we’ve successfully designed a bike frame that can take you virtually anywhere your heart desires – near or far, paved or muddy.

If the past has taught us anything, it's that our double butted 4130 chromoly frames can hold up to some serious riding. We've confidently backed them with a 50 year warranty, and decided to use that rock solid foundation as the groundwork for our latest build.
By slacking out the geometry of our tried and true Sutro frame, we’ve been able to create a track-inspired adventure bike that’s compact enough for city commuting, yet loose enough for longer rides and off road adventures. We’ve also raised the bottom bracket slightly higher than the industry standard for pedal through cornering on any terrain.
The addition of convertible rear dropouts and a coupling system on the seat stay offer our customers the ability to run virtually any type of drivetrain of their choosing. As an added bonus, the sliding dropouts allow the rider to tension their chain or belt without a traditional derailleur or chain tensioner.
By simply switching out the dropout inserts, we can now accommodate any of the following options and more:
Single speed: Our simplest and lowest maintenance option.
1 x 11: The new standard for cassette driven allroad bikes. Simple and effective, utilizing 1 shifter to activate the same range as a 2x setup.
2 x 10/11: A favorite of touring cyclists for the most microshifting options within the given gear range.
Internally Geared: We’ve been using the Shimano Alfine internally geared 8-speed hubs for the better part of a decade. They offer a generous gear range, accompanied by low maintenance and user friendly design.
Belt Drive: A favorite of our European customers, belt drives offer clean, quiet, low maintenance alternative to traditional bike chains and require no grease or lube.

Another massive step forward for this frame is the upgrade to a disc braking system. Disc brakes have quickly become the new norm in every category of cycling from road to mountain and everything in-between for their unmatched stopping power and ability to perform in the foulest of weather conditions. In addition to the obvious advantages, the addition of disc brakes also allows the rider to easily run a 650b wheelset as an alternative to the standard 700c.
With the addition of a newer, wider fork, The Stinson is able to accommodate tires up to 700c x 42 or 650b x 50 with room for fenders. Wider tires have become the new norm both on, and off road in recent years, and here’s why.
Since the introduction of our Sutro frame back in 2012 we’ve used internal cable routing to keep the look of the finished bike minimal and clean. This frame is just as sleek, running all shifter and brake cables internally to ensure a seamless look.
With this departure from our traditional track bike roots, we've added an array of braze-ons and mounts to help you make it along whatever journey you decide to take.
Front and rear rack mounts ensure plenty of room for gear, while the bottle cage mounts hold onto your beverage of choice. These finishing touches make it a frame as fit for a commute to work, as it is a weekend ride to the campgrounds – the only limit is your ambition.
We’ve always offered our customers the ability to select their own custom frame colorways from any of a few hundred different hues via www.ralcolors.co
The Stinson's color options are just as limitless, and each frame will be powder coated right here in the Bay Area before being shipped directly to you. We opt for powder coating over traditional paint due to it’s beautifully rich color and added durability, and you can read more on that here.
